Kjeld Ulrich

Born in Odense, Denmark, in 1942

Education: Trained under Kaj Kylborg at the Funen Art Academy from 1968 to 1976.

Ulrich’s primary media are acrylics on canvas, but an early introduction to drypoint has had a major influence on his history of playing with painting and graphics—which characterize his expressionistic and symbolism-infused artistic language.

More recently, Ulrich has returned to ceramic processes to decorate large ceramic vases at the Tommerup Tileworks. As a result, these works have been shown in many exhibitions and chosen for decorating assignments both at home and abroad.

Keld Ulrich is a member of the Danish Visual Artists Association (Billedkunstnernes Forbund).
